Wild Places

Wild Places is a one-page, GM-led, rules-light system designed for single-session play. The characters are normal people who find themselves in extraordinary situations. It is not designed for combat.

The aim was to put together a simple system which I could use to introduce newer players to tabletop roleplaying games. For my players specifically, I wanted a non-combat game that could be used to evoke the atmosphere of books like The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper, The Book of Dead Days by Marcus Sedgwick and Piranesi by Suzanna Clarke. I couldn’t find one and so I made Wild Places.
